Our Most Frequently Asked Questions
If you are unable to find the answer you are looking for, please reach out via hello@HackAction.com
Do I need to come with a team?
No! In fact, most people don't come with a team! At the beginning of the event, everyone will pitch ideas for what they want to build. Afterwards, you will have time to get to meet with other and form teams.
What should I bring?
Bring your laptop and mouse. Food is included in your ticket. If you're planning on sleeping, bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and toothbrush. Desktop PCs and monitors are also allowed, although less common.
Is transportation available?
Unfortunately, we are unable to individually transport participants. However, if you contact as prior to the event - our team would be happy to assist you in mapping an efficient bus route.
Do you provide food?
Yes! We will be providing lunch and dinner on the first day. We will also provide breakfast on the second day. Snacks will be available for entire duration of the hackathon.

We will try our best to avoid serving foods which are known to cause allergic reactions. If you have any specific dietary restrictions, please send us an email at hello@HACKACTION.org and we will try our best to accommodate them.
How can I contact HACKACTION?
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions, suggestions or concerns through email via hello@HACKACTION.org or through our messenger portal on Facebook.
Can I leave during the event?
Yes. Although our hackathons are 24-hour long events, we expect some people would prefer to go home for the night and return in the morning. You are free to go and come as you please. However, most participants choose to stay the entire 24-hour period so as to spend the most time working on their project.
Who can attend your events?
Our hackathons are strategically designed to accommodate participants across all skill levels. Participants that are new to programming may attend workshops during the event to kick off their programming skills!
Can I volunteer at an event?
Of Course! HACKACTION would not be possible without its awesome volunteers. Please click here to fill out a form if you wish to schedule an interview. If you have any questions in regards to volunteering opportunities, please send us an email at hello@HACKACTION.org.

Please note: Although preferred, you do not have to have any prior coding volunteer at one of our events.
